Whilst preventing the ingress of harmful substances to make contact with the skin, the micromesh nature of it allows the skin to breathe and perspire, a necessary function for healthy skin. You might liken it to a "breathable" fabric commonly found in outdoor clothing.

For maximum benefit it needs to be applied only every 3-4 hours.
