Ladder Safety Tips and Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can you use LadderMate between 2nd & 3rd rungs (to bridge over porches,
conservatories, etc) on level ground?
A. No, the product is designed to be used on ladders which are at or about the recommended angle of
1:4 (75 degrees). The angle created in the situation above is unsafe. LadderMate can only be used between
2nd & 3rd rungs if the ground behind the ladder is higher than that on which the ladder rests i.e. if the
ground slopes down, away from the wall or if there is a kerb. In this situation still ensure the ladder
angle is at about 75 degrees to the horizontal.
